Regional Playoffs

For the 2025-2026 Season, the NCBBA-W has a total of 6 Region’s. The New England Region, The North Atlantic Region, the Mid-Atlantic Region, the Mid-America Region, the Great Lakes Region, and the Pacific Region. All six Regional Tournaments will take place during Week 22 (March 28-29, 2026) of the NCBBA-W Season. This season, the NCBBA will pre-select a geographically centralized NCBBA Member College or University in each region to host the regional tournaments. Updates for those selections will be posted below once finalized.

Those Regions being the Great Lakes Region, the Mid America Region, the North Atlantic Region, and the Pacific Region. These Regionals will feature a total of 4 teams, which will be the top 2 teams from each conference (conference winner and conference runner up). The Mid-Atlantic Region is now made up of 3 total conferences. This Regional will feature a total of 4 Teams, which will be each Conference Winner and an At-Large Bid. The New England Region is split into 4 conferences. This Regional will feature a total of 8 Teams, which will be the top 2 teams from each conference (conference winner and conference runner-up)

The 5 Regional Championships will be hosted by the directional conference winner that is ranked higher in the Tytan Athletics NCBBA-W Top 15 Poll at that time, with the exception of the New England which will be hosted at a central location chosen by the NCBBA. The winners of the Regional Championships will automatically earn a spot in the 2026 NCBBA-W National Championship Tournament.

NCBBA-W National Championship Tournament At-Large Bid

With 6 teams automatically qualifying for the 2026 NCBBA-W National Championship Tournament, the final 2 teams of the field of 8 will be selected as an At-Large Bid by the NCBBA. Any team selected to receive an At-Large Bid is chosen at the NCBBA’s discretion. Factors taken into account by the NCBBA when selecting an At-Large Bid consist of but are not limited to:

-Did the team finish in at least 2nd place in their conference?

-How did the team perform against their conference or regional champion?

-Is the team on probation?

-Has the team forfeited any games?
