Boston College finishes off their undefeated season by winning the first ever NCBBA-W National Championship Tournament and is rewarded as the unanimous #1! Congratulations Eagles! Ohio State, SIUe, and Northeastern round out the top 4.

EAGLES WIN NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP; VAN PELT MVP
The #2 seeded Boston College Eagles are your 2022 NCBBA-W National Champions after defeating Ohio State 45-44 in the National Championship Game. The Eagles were lead by Catherine Van Pelt who averaged 17 points per game which earned her MVP honors.

2022-2023 NCBBA-W LPA
Click HERE to download the 2022-2023 NCBBA-Women’s League Participation Agreement. If you are renewing your membership with the NCBBA for the 22-23 season, this needs signed by both the Team Representative (e.g. Team President) as well as a Faculty Representative (e.g. Club Sports Director) to secure your spot in the NCBBA-W for the 2022-2023 season. This is due no later than June 1st, 2022, so don’t delay. It is much easier getting the required signatures before you leave campus for the summer.

THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT FIELD IS SET
The field is set! Kennesaw State and Coastal Carolina had to go to a decisive 3rd game which Kennesaw State won 81-66 to be crowned South Atlantic Regional Champions. Northeastern out of the New England and SUNY Cortland out of the North Atlantic have been named as the At-Large bids for the NCBBA-W National Championship Tournament. These 3 teams will join the following:
- Penn State (Mid Atlantic Region Champions)
- Boston College (New England Region Champions)
- Ohio State (Great Lakes Region Champions)
- SIUe (Mid America Region Champions)
- Syracuse (North Atlantic Region Champions)

5 TEAMS IN; REGIONAL BRACKETS UPDATED
Penn State, Syracuse, Boston College, Ohio State, and SIUe all clinched their spot in the NCBBA-Women’s National Championship Tournament on Saturday. Two more Regional Tournament Champion auto-qualifiers will be determined today along with one at-large bid to round out the field of 8 teams.
Penn State defeated Montclair State in the opening round game, 68-52 then defeated them again 60-54 to claim the Mid Atlantic Atlantic Regional Championship. Boston College defeated UMass in the first round 56-50 and then defeated conference rival Northeastern 55-41 in the championship to claim the New England Regional Championship. Ohio State came in as the #3 seed and went on to defeat Indiana 60-37 and top seed Grand Valley State 62-49 to win the Great Lakes Regional. Lastly, Syracuse took down SUNY Cortland in two nail biters 62-61 and 59-57 to become the North Atlantic Regional Champs.
The South Atlantic Regional between Kennesaw State and Coastal Carolina will be decided at 1:00 EST today. Out west, the Pacific Regional will be decided at 1:00 PST. The 2 Regional winners will automatically qualify for the 2022 NCBBA-W National Championship.

San Jose State jumps into the top 15 in the last poll of the regular season. Penn State remains the unanimous #1 for the 8th straight week followed by Villanova and Boston College who remain undefeated.

2022-2023 New Team!
The NCBBA is excited to announce that Washington University in St. Louis has officially joined the NCBBA Women’s Division as the first new team for the 2022-2023 season. Welcome Bears!
